I think most of you misunderstood my question. I really wasn't asking if Chinese women are better than western ones or vice versa. I just wanted to know if there's a sense of equality in China's cheating culture, one that also allows women to have a lover on the side too. If men can do it, why not women?

When I lived in Guangdong the local said that many rich old women had lovers on the side, but the rest of China it is usually the business men who travel a lot that keep a mistress in each city.

I have never met more women who cheat in my life than I have met living here. It's cause so many relationsships aren't built on anything more than getting married for a reason OTHER than actually loving each other.

Why just China? It happens everywhere. Just read the classifieds in any paper in any city on any day and the evidence of infidelity will jump off the pages at you!! Adult dating sites online? Same thing.

Divorce rate in China is slightly less than the USA, Great Britain and Australia but these countries all experience almost 1 in every 2 marriages ending in divorce and separation.

I agree with Crimochina as well, the same thing happened to me, she kept on telling me how Chinese women were pure and would never do such things, then we would have sex in her husband's back. (I didn't know she was married at first, then when she told me I thought "ah what the heck, evil's already done)
It also happened backwards, a girlfriend who would also praise Chinese women and their greatness, their purity, and criticizing westerners, calling them asshole pigs who sleep around. Then she cheated on me with a westerner. It wasn't fun at all :(
