Q: Is it a crime to destroy money here?
Just saying here or anywhere in other countries. I'd assume it would be in Thailand because of their laws. Not too sure about here though. Also, in the states I saw some rappers in a video burn money and nothing ever happened to them.

yes it is . There was a case that one woman driver was angry after a traffic accident and burned cash the other driver compensated her in public because she thought it was far from enough . She received a fine for that . According to China's regulation regarding to this ， intentionally destroying RMB like tearing it apart ，burning it and several other ways should be warned by the PSB and could be fined up to 10000Yuan.
It is a crime in the US too. You cannot mutilate, or even write on US currency. However, it is almost never enforced.
Same in the UK. It is in fact illegal to deface anything with the Queen's image on it. In fact, postage stamps are legal tender. A bus driver would have to accept them. If he doesn't, you could use them for a taxi or cash them in at the post office, but you shouldn't have to...you shouldn't have to.

Yeah I think I read the same on wikipedia or wherever you got that from. There is no way anyone would accept a stamp as legal tender though, especially a bus driver; they get arsey if you give them a tenner.
a long time ago they even wrote a little note on US currency not to fold, spindle, or mutilate.
hehe :-) that's some old language... lol,,,wtf is spindle ? how do u put it in a wallet w/out folding ?
but yeah, the law is still there. it would be funny to see a Federal Judge give some homey a prison sentence for lighting his Cuban w/ a Benjamin ! :-p
