If you have a valid license from your home country, you will need to take a written exam if you complty with the other requirements of age, health, not an "L" visa, etc.  You must answer correctly a minimum of 90 out of 100 multiple choice questions.

If you do not have a valid driver license from your country, then must take written and practical tests.

Google "chinese written test questions in English", there are sites listing as many as 800 possible questions based on the driver manual they use.

buddy, the test is in chinese, better get your license back home, then find a translator here, translate your permit at the police station..
or you can bribe the right person.. no need exams... yes it does, bribery is the common way to get things done in China..

I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
