Q: Is it even possible to drive above the speed limit in Beijing?

With all the traffic that I have seen in Beijing it's like we are always going about 25 to 40 miles an hour the whole trip with frequent stops along the way. I've never been in a vehicle in Beijing or have seen a car drive above the speed limit or close to the speed limit for a long period of time. The roadways get to congested which causes cars to slow down significantly. Had the bus guy yelling out the bus the other day.

You can't drive (successfully) faster than the car in front of you.

DaBen:

Says you.... you forget, he's a fellow redneck... it's in our blood to be able to jack up an car. So with the right tires and suspension kit, you'd have no problems driving faster than the cars in front of you.

Well of course if you drive the Gravedigger or Bigfoot you can. Actually, there are days around here that I wish I could drive the gravedigger. I love that truck.
