Q: Is it normal to be drinking a lot with your boss in China?

I hear a lot of Chinese people complaining about having to drink with their boss all the time, and that they can't really refuse. Is this normal here? Is it something I should worry about when applying for jobs i Chinese companies?

Depends on where and what field you are going to work, but the nights of going out to drink with your boss isn't that bad.  It's the "business dinner" nights where they just want to show you off, especially if he's invited some of his government buddies, that's when you have to get your liver ready and you'll be haunted by the taste of baijiu for the next few days.
