Q: Is it possible to hire a private investigator in China?
If you suspect that your spouse is cheating on you, is it possible to hire a private detective here? If so, how do you find them and how much do they charge? Just curious!

There are very few 'professional' private investigators in China. Also, there is, as far as I am aware, no licensing system for them so there is no way to ensure that they have at least basic training in the field.
The investigators I have seen will charge you anywhere from about 500RMB per day to 5000RMB per day. However, the price is no guarantee of their professionalism or skill. And if I remember correctly, they aren't allowed to exist because the local police force sees them as a challenge.
In short, they exist, but it is pretty much a word-of-mouth type network. I even know a couple of expats who provide such a service, which comes in handy if your target is in the expat community and the investigator needs to be able to provide discreet interviews.
It's too bad you can't hire the cheater crew with Joey Greco to lead the investigation. I think that is one of the shows in the states that China has not yet adopted. That would be cool to have the Cheaters' crew to come to China and investigate....
