- Without being blacklisted / prevented from being hired at future posts
My friend has a psychiatric illness and is overburdened/overwhelmed by the workload the school has given him (as well as other factors, environment, etc.)
Is it possible with proof of an overseas doctor to medically be withdrawn from the job without being blacklisted from future employer, who can I talk to about this ordeal if don't wish to talk to school just yet?
What will the likely result be? Would SAFEA know how to handle?
The ideal end-goal would be to give my friend a pass with a doctor's note and let them not blackballed, fly home, etc.

You could dial SAFEA and ask them about it.
Blacklisted because of not honouring the Contract? I would think, not blacklisted, but more prevented, i.e. 'not employable as an English teacher in China as somebody with psych. illness'.
I am guessing, but I think there is a record at Gov. on any 'illness/missing classes because of it'. I don't have any proof of that!
Fly home, i.e. 'terminate the Contract because of the illness' is part of every Contract, I saw. I am not sure about consequences, i.e. 'possibility of new employment'!
In the contract there's an out usually requiring 30-60 days notice. Usually the same for medical inability to continue. He should cowboy up and pay the 1 month salary and leave legally.
