New visa regs state students on X visas can get a part time job as long as they get permission from their school and approved by the PSB.

The X visa part-time job MUST be pre-approved. It'll take time for a lot of bureaucrats to finally implement these rules. Get permission from the school and PSB first. No exceptions.

If you decide to skirt the rules, you may be able to get away with it, and you might not. Sooner or later, it'll catch up to you and bite you in the behind. Be very careful.

Yes you can it's called the work study program it's where your school offers jobs to students who need financial aid. If you qualify and there is a job related to your field your school may be able to help you with your bills by giving you a job at the school part time. Some people work in the library, the computer lab etc.,
