Q: Is it true that China plans to plant some veggies in Mars?

I've heard it from two foreign drunkards last night.

That was me ... and yes, when drunk I dream of going to Mars to plant corn, backed by my Chinese investors.

CHINESE astronauts are preparing to grow fresh vegetables on Mars

"Chinese astronauts may get fresh vegetables and oxygen supplies by gardening in extra-terrestrial bases in the future," the report said, adding that the experiment was the first of its kind in China.

Yang Liwei said last month that Chinese astronauts may start a branch of China's ruling Communist Party in space, state media reported. If we establish a party branch in space, it would also be the 'highest' of its kind in the world

We are securing special Martian Jewels Corn seeds. Mars Clay Layer cake is also on the menu of possibilities.

On a more dire note: A tiny island between New Brunswick and Maine is the subject of renewed calls from both sides of the US/Canada border to settle a territorial dispute once and for all.

Scandinavian:

I don't understand how this is possible. I mean, the astronauts, with all their training, gardening skills etc. would not be able to complete even the simplest task on the moon, when their visor is running with spit and lungbutter.

Mars is also known as the "Red Planet" therefore China have natural sovereign rights to its territory. Thus, Mars will soon be added to the list of provinces and shall be designated a "Special Agricultural Development Zone". All Martians shall be issued with a Chinese identity card, be entitled to make dumplings at Spring Festival and shall be encouraged to make as much noise as possible during inter-terrestrial voyages.

according to ancient made up documents, Mars belongs to China
