Q: L visa question

hello everyone

i got L visa. on my visa is written: entries: 2, duration of each stay: 90 days after entry. what does that mean? does it mean that I can enter China twice and stay for 90 days EVERY time, or it means that I can stay in China only 90 days IN TOTAL?

Does anybody know of some Chinese government website where I can find official explanation of different kinds of visa? Where can I ask about my visa - in police station maybe...?

Go to the Public Security Office in the city you are staying, and ask them for explanation.

In English, that means you have 2 entries, duration of each stay is 90 days or shorter.

'EACH' in English means 'each of two entries'!

Just means you can only stay here 3 months at a time then you have to leave.  So in your case you can stay here 90 days then you have to leave the country and re-enter. Once you re-enter you're allowed another 90 days before you have to either leave for good or get a new visa.

Most people just go to hong kong for a day or two and then come back, that counts as leaving.

If you're still unsure though, contact PSB. They can tell you.

It means your L Visa is only good for 90 days with 2 entries only.

Please read it carefully because you may only have 30 days.

Please read it carefully. You may only have 30 days in each entry not 90 days

According to my friend (foreigner), if you use your last entry before the expiratory date you can stay another 90 days from the date of entry but you have no more entries left. I don't know if this is true or not but anything is possible. TIC.

As said above, read the visa carefully and check with your local Entry/Exit Bureau, it's the safest thing. The last thing you need is to get nabbed with an overstay.

Although this doesn't affect me, I have heard the same thing from someone who says that they have done this with no trouble as long as your visa is still valid for the entry, but as you say....TIC.

A L visa is only valid for 30 days at a time, thus double entry means 30 days + 30 days, with first entry within 90 days of it being issued.  However, this can be extended by another 30 days each time by the local Exit/Entry Bureau.
