Q: The latest time should leave China for the second entry

Hi, there. I have a friend who has trouble to understand his Chinese visa. We discussed but had different opinions. If anyone knows about that, please help.

Here  is his visa shows (the following dates are simplified for easier understanding):

Issue date: 1 Jan 2013

Enter before: 1 Jun 2013

Entries: 02

Duration of each stay: 90

He actually arrived in China on 15 Jan and left on 14 April. He is planning to come again on 1 May, when should be the last day of leaving China this time?

Is it 1 Jun, because it is the validity of the visa? Or mid Jun, because his visa is activated from 15 Jan and valid for 6 months no matter how long he leaves China in between? Or end of July, because he comes back on 1 May and visa is still valid for another 90 days?

Thank you for your help.

A tourist visa in China has three main components :  validity, number of entries, and days to stay in China on each entry.

Using the dates you offer in your question, the visa is valid for entering China from Jan 1, 2013 thru May 31, 2013 (enter before 06/01/2013). Within those dates, he can enter China twice. To give you an extreme example so you will understand, he can choose to enter China on January 1, stay 90 days and exit China. Then re enter China on May 31, 2013 and stay another 90 days, even if the visa expired on June 1.

If he entered China on May 1, 2013, he has 90 days again to stay in China, he should exit China on July 29, 2013, but do not take my word for it, do your math also.

Hulk, I am always on the background, but many days there are no questions worth answering in my opinion, so I stay off.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
