Q: leaving China for Bali holiday... August or next Feb....anybody got suggestions?

Bali is my preferred destination next time.... easier to convince friends/family to meet me there...

already did this seasons holiday in Philippines.... change is as good as a rest they tell me.

it ain't booked yet, so I am wondering if anybody here, has been and had a good experience/ or bad ....  where?? Nusa Dua is where I am looking today.    3 star is good... maybe 4 because often not much more and only sometimes better....$$$$$ is the key....

Watch out for the annual haze season. Farmers cut and burn to clear forest for planting twice a year and August is smack right into one of them. Bali is nice if you haven't been before. Totally relaxed and quiet.

Check out the dates for Australian school holidays & avoid those times! Check out the weather in February as I think it's the rainy season.

I really didn't like the Philippines, there isn't 10 feet of good sidewalk in the whole country. And slums, I do feel for the people, I donated 3 cell phones, my computer and a lot of money to the local economy.

A: Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever
A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
