Q: Is Lego cheap in China ?
This question is on behalf of my 4 year old little little girl
She is right into Lego and I want to get some for her while we are back this year
How Cheap and do most toy shops stock it ?

No it's not. The cheapest I have found it is in the US, in Europe prices are the same (give or take a bit of difference in VAT) and those prices match the Chinese.
Online retailers in US who sell LEGO does typically not ship out of the country, so you need a henchman in the US.

I should also add. There are numerous copy products that look at lot like LEGO, I am guessing kids would at minimum get a rash by touching those bricks.
Its not much cheap here, small box with car or some for girls, ussualy 100rmb or 149, lowest, smallest lego box is 69 rmb. Do not buy in carefour, coz there is the price for small box much higher. Try Kids Land or some stores like this. Anyway, big plastic box for 400rmb u will get everywhere same price, even on taobao is same.
I bought a lot of lego for me and my son here 
they use it to build bridges and buildings

did you ever see parts of buildings falling apart in China without anyone stepping on it ? Lego is more sturdy then Chinese concrete

I watched Lego document some month ago, there still only 4 factories, and none in china ( yet ). the one mould cost 1,5 milion Euros. while in china, we made moulds for our " licensed Spiderman figures" for 8000rmb. sure there is a difference, Lego bricks are simply perfect, never any small mistake, always match. My wife bought fake lego on taobao for 7kuai. I do not want hurt her heart and did not go to garbage same day, but just few days later :)

Buy her real bricks, you mix the mortar. Think of it as a bonding experience. You can build things that will last for years. Think of the fun you can have, you can go out at night and brick in your pesky neighbors door for fun. There is no end to what you can build.
