Q: Lifestyle of eating food,any suggestion?
I have tried to cook organic food at home for getting myself better quality food to eat in China. But after been cooking for a while,I just feel tired and bored with cooking a lot. I start missing eatting out.
I feel lost right now. Any suggestion?
Most of the "organic" producers in China will often pay/bribe for the certification label. The consumer is just paying more for a pesticide and chemically laden food item. This country is all about profit, not the health and welfare of its citizens. If you want genuine organic food Vicky, you'll have to leave China.

I would normally agree with you BUT... I do know some foreigners that have actually started up their own organic farms in China. They are big hits around the Tian jin, Beijing area...
Some actually tend to the produce themselves... but Chinese are involved in the process so who knows...

I would like to move out of China for better food and better air.
But will I get job there? I do not want to be a housewife and expect my husband to give me money to go shopping there.
Well,if I do,I will have to try to get Master degree or other degree there to find job. Or just simply run my own business if it works.
But I am fine to stay in China as my family is here and China is the land where I was born and bred and there are a lot of jobs for me even it is dirty.And I will buy organic food or grown myself if I stay in China. Ah...It's complicated.

My family has lands in our ZheJiang village, it is a much cleaner village where the government is trying to protect it from the pollution as there is a reservoir supplying the water for the city.But my family uses pesticides and fertilizers to plant vegetable to eat and they think it's healthy as they grow by themselves.
I am not sure the saying that the chemicals will go after you soaked the veggies in the water for a while,but I would rather to not have the chemicals contained from the very beginning.
If I decide to supply food for myself and my family,here are the plans: I would simply put a web on the land to protect my veggies from worm without using pesticide and using ash and animal manure as fertilizer.And I will feed the livestock with my vegetable and glass.
You won't make much of a wife if you need encouragement to cook healthy food. My wife and MIL do it without hesitation. I don't know *how* they do it, but my stomach is happy that they can.
As for 'organic', you can't tell if stuff contains traces of poison, whether it's from a local farmer's market or an alleged import shop. Using good judgement, and evaluating the health of the meat/vegetable by inspecting visually, is the best most people can do.
Don't follow cooking trends that Shanghai women are glorifying, just strive to create a balanced diet with plenty of veggies, not too much oil on everything, and you'll be fine.
I don't cook every day, but I cook at least once a week. My favourite dish usually has omelet, mushroom and tomato, and some extras. Inspired by the Chinese egg & tomato dish, but less water and more spices. Vegetarian and tasty.

I want my food to contain less harmful substance.I guess you can't be 100% sure if they use chemicals to grow but the percentage to be trusted is much higher as they mark it as organic and I buy from Shanghai downtown where most westerners go buy.
I am just tired of my healthy life style by cooking at home. I really feel want to eat out but food outside frightened me. I wasn't influenced by Shanghaiese,and they aren't really care about that. I got influenced by westerners.

When you think about... if aliens did exist, (which they do in all probability) they must think we are f*cking crazy animals.
First, we try to hard to chase and hunt animals around and finally work hard to bring a crop to eat food.
Then we mass produce meats in factories and add a ton of crap (chemicals) to our produce and genetically modify it to bring in even more crops to eat.
And then, we cry there are too much chemicals and try even harder to make sure the food is the way it was before we screwed with it.
If I was an alien, I would smack the hell out of the human race.

I agree. I am pissed off with human. I understand about producing crops with chemicals when there was not enough food to supply. But for now China should have at least do the better quality control on the food.
I am the one can afford to buy organic food in China but the thing is they may still have some chemicals contained. But also I have a chance to get non chemicals contained organic food with the ones I bought. As we aren't sure if they have chemicals or not.
But I saw some organic vegetable got bited by worms and a lot of holes on it. And the carrots are usually smaller than the other carrots. I guess they are more like organic food. I bought from Carrefour in ZhongShan park,Green&Kitchen next to Heng Shan road and city shops usually.
