Q: light bulb life -- how long? no not, How Long to long?

I moved in here June 22, 2012 .....  replaced at least half the light bulbs, so I could see right away...... seems the other half within the next month.................... I bought the most expensive and best damned bulbs I could get...(most expensive, the key there) .............energy efficient curly things that I thought would be good for 5 years...( forget, for sure if the box said that, but I think so).................  anyways, one is burnt out, the first one replaced, ... do you think I might as well just get the other 10 now too?................

after 2 years the chandelier in our living room has lost 9 out of 12 bulbs. It was stocked with standard energy saving bulbs. There is still plenty of light but now at 25% of the energy usage.

Back home I had only IKEA energy efficient lightbulbs in my apartment, I never recall having to replace any of them, only bought bulbs for occasions such as lamp purchases.

Chinese lightbulbs suck, OR. Power supply is less steady and fluctuations burn the bulbs faster.

In the grand scheme of things, there is no saving to the environment if the life span of these energy saving bulbs is not significantly longer than that of a conventional bulb. The low energy bulbs has lovely chemicals that end up in the food chain because in China, even the greenest of parks is a garbage dump.

I have the best luck with cheap regular light bulbs. My apartment had some and some small florescents. They are supposed to be more economical and I had changed my home to them. My hydro bill went up. i think flor... burn cheaper but take more energy to power them up and I hate the light, also found that the expensive ones didn't last ( ones compatible with dimmer switches). I tried LED, same thing, hated the light, very expensive and some didn't last. I have low voltage halogen bulbs in track lights, they seem to last forever and I love the light.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
