Q: Looking to find a bed bug exterminator
Recently moved into a new apartment to find out the beds have bed bugs.
Every time I have asked my Chinese coworkers for help for this problem they just offer to go get my boyfriend and I medicine, and not work to solve the problem.
We have asked our landlord about this, and to no surprise they seem to be very "busy" and have not gotten back to us in a few days.
So any advice or a good company to hire would be appreciated thank you!
Also we do love everything about our apartment except for the bed bugs, so not really looking to move.

Remove all clutter from your home. Seal the clutter in resealable plastic bags and containers. Put the resealable plastic bags and containers in a freezer for at least 60 days to kill bedbug eggs.

Put all curtains, bedding, rugs, clothing and stuffed animals in plastic trash bags. Wash all items in hot water (above 140 degrees). Dry them above 175 degrees in a clothes dryer.

A chemical used in dry-cleaning, perchloroethylene, will kill bedbugs and eggs.
Take non-washable items to the dry cleaner. Inform the dry cleaner that the items are infested with bedbugs.

Put all clean items in a plastic trash bags until you remove the bedbugs from your home.

Vacuum the bed frames, furniture, floor, carpet, open cracks and spaces. Put 1/4 cup of cornstarch in the bag or canister of the vacuum cleaner, seal the contents and burn or freeze 6
Soak the HEPA filter in hot, soapy water for 10 minutes before letting it air-dry. Sterilize the vacuum cleaner hoses in hot water. Seal the vacuum in a plastic resealable bag when not in use, and unseal the vacuum when you need to use it.

Put waterproof, zippered covers that are labeled "bedbug proof" on mattresses and box springs for least one year. Pull your bed away from all walls and furniture.

Repair loose wallpaper and tighten light switch covers. Use a hair dryer on cracks and crevices for at least 30 seconds.

Do not bring upholstered furniture, mattresses, box springs or bed frames found on the street into your home. Check used furniture for bedbugs.

Hot water will elimate bedbugs.
Wash clothing above 140 degrees if you have been around bedbugs. Dry clothing above 175 degrees.

Caulk will prevent bedbugs and other pests from coming into your home.
Seal all cracks in your home with caulk.
i'd suggest a new mattress if you can get it. Those ***** are not the easiest to move, plus there are all the chemicals needed.
I bought two shower curtains and wrapped the mattress properly in them, and then, I covered the wrapped mattress with mattress covering, and then, I make my bed with other sheets and spreads. My skin and hair are extremely sensitive to bugs, and I am not so sure if the bug spray is healthy for you at the end of the day.
Or you could just buy a new mattress and deduct the money from the rent.
You can get bedbug proof mattresses. Or wear a giant condom when you sleep.

Not sure where to find those matresses, but if you need the condoms I think I have a couple left.
Wash all your clothes and bedding on the same day. Don't wear or use the same for two or three days. Bedbugs cannot survive without human contact for more than a day or two.
Yes that means you need other bedding. You can wash - and do not touch for two days - a set of clothes before the main cleaning to wear while everything else recovers.
If they have infested you, post here and I'll find the name of the cream I used to eliminate them.
All the exterminators I've hired have been lazy and inefficient. Besides, the chemicals they use will probably make your mattress smelly and likely poisonous. You're better off cutting it up (so scavengers won't take it and spread bed bugs to others) and throwing it out.
