Q: Looking to meet up with Australians who live in or regularly visit Shenyang

I visit Shenyang for a few months each year. Would like to hear from any other Australians who are familiar with the city to share some experiences, stories etc.

I haven't really met any since I've been here. If you just want to hang out with other foreigners I'd recommend The Green Mile, O'Reilly's, or Uncle Sam's. Even then, your more likely to get a bunch of North Americans and the odd Brit.

I only know of a couple of Aussies, one has been here for 5 years but is leaving in the next couple of weeks and the other I see occasionally as he goes by on his bike.  There is a guy called Terry who comes into town occasionally, I think he imports beer or wine and he can usually be found in Strollers when he's here but I haven't seen him for a while.

Hey, how is Strollers? I've gone past it a few times, but I've never really tried it out. Is it worth giving a shot?

I like Strollers, it's a nice bar with a nice atmosphere and they all know me by name in there - it used to be my local before I moved up to Huanggu.  It's a little bit more expensive than Next Door up at O'Reilly's for drink and on a par for food.  It gets really busy and is very popular with the German BMW workers, particularly on weekday evenings.  On a normal day, you'll be lucky to get a table after 8pm.
