Can anyone point me in the direction of a psychotherapist in Beijing? Looking for someone with reasonable rates, English speaking, and good at dealing with things like angry rumination and depression.
probably the best thing you can do is leave China to deal with these issues.
But seriously, there is a BIG stigma regarding mental heath issues!
If yours is a serious question and it's really about you, seek help immediately in any of the major hospitals that serve foreigners. I'm not in BJ, but a quick online search should give you reliable results. Don't put it off, man. And don't worry about the cost. Guaranteed it's far less expensive than in the West. Good luck to ya.
I'm guessing that you will need a referral from a GP. There is a Global Doctors in Beijing. It is an Australian company, and their clinics usually have at least one western doctor (American, Australian, etc). I always look for them if I am sick in China, as I prefer them over Chinese medical standards.
At the very least, this doctor will have studied some psychiatry at a western medical school, and should be able to refer you to someone else, if available.
The website is www.globaldoctors.asia/index.php/global-doctors-alliance/china/beijing-clinic
Thanks everyone. And I like Sorrel's answer, that made me laugh.
