If you earn enough, you can work past 60 with a Foreign Expert rating (at leat in Guizhou) -- but enough is more an teachers get paid here. I have known people to get exceptions to the "60" rule to teach in more remote areas.

Max is 60-years, as I know.

I guess, it's connected with Medical insurance required for foreign employee on Z visa ...

Does Foreign Expert  mean having specual skills such as

Physics / Maths/ STEAM  / Engineering teacher  , Curriculum Developer

Teacher Mentor ?

Please define the term Foreign Expert

icnif77:

It's Chinese made-up term and it doesn't mean you must have some special knowledge.

For Chinese, you are an expert because English is very difficult language and not too high percentage of Chinese are familiar with.

Oral English teacher gets title Foreign Expert and until 2017 very important document 'Foreign Expert Certificate', which was similar to ID except instead of residence address it held 'designated place of work' ...

You had to have BA (completed in Native English country), TEFL certificate and 2-years of working experience ( with addition today, one must hold passport from Native English country) ... and once you landed in China, you became an expert ..

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
