Q: Medcial insurance for foreigners - type 2?

We're getting medical insurance at our school (company pays + we pay about 200 rmb per month from our salary) - does anyone know about so called type 2 insurance? Supposedly there 3 types of MI in China.

Does anyone know what type 2 covers, like does it cover surgery or aftercare etc.?

Aren’t you better asking your school & getting a copy of the policies in English?

Actually I need to clarify: I am talking about social insurance that the company pays for us and we also pay for it 9as I said 200 rmb/m). It has started with the new contract which is 9-2017.

Does anyone know who to call on what it covers and can it be used immediately on serious stuff like surgery or should it accumulate some balance?
