Q: Medical exam - do they test for drugs?

Just had to do the medical exam here and was wondering if they tested for drugs of any kind, even marijuana.
Do they test THC levels?

They take a blood sample. What they do with it, I don't know.

They DO NOT test for drusg. All they test for are blood related diseases..HIV, STD, etc.

if they tested for drugs then NO-ONE would get a visa.

They really should.
If anyone is going to fool around with drugs here in China, be VERY careful as they are quite strick with their drug laws.
I for one, do not shed tears when they execute a foreigner who tried to smuggle drugs into the country.

Stay away from poppyseed bagels....you may test positive for opiates.
Oh wait, sorry, no bagels in China.crying

Xpat.John:

You can also mask THC levels by drinking lots of grape juice. (Not that I have tried this, but it was one of the 'remedies' used back during my military days.) Also, real Uzo has a opium base and real Jagermister has a codeine base that can show up on tests if they are looking for that kind of thing. < br/>
If you freeze real Uzo, it turns milky white, then turns clear again and it will have little silvery flakes floating around. Supposedly, this is the opiate base in its frozen state.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
