Beijing is full of vintage side-car motorbikes and I really want one! I've even seen quite a few foreigners driving them. How much does one roughly cost and where could I buy one?

Have you got a Chinese drivers license? I remember vintage bikes when they were new. I won't give you 10 cents for one. The oldest bike I'd consider would be a 70s Honda CB750. I've never driven anything with a side car, don't know how it handles, it's be slower for sure.Sidecars have to be lined up properly, they need to be toed in and the angle of the bike leans in or out??.
India still makes a copy of an old Royal Enfield.350 and 500.
I was looking at one of these a while ago i seen on Taobao it was 6000 quai a army old motorbike. I would also try looking at the second hand bike places- Make sure you check the bike over. Look for 1 you like and then get a Chinese person to negotiate the price otherwise you get stung. The only downside to these is no skipping through traffic compared.
used to be a guy who built and sold them in Beijing, advertised on craigslist.org, prices varied from 10k to 30k rmb depending on the motor and what country the motor was made, german and japanese motors costing more obviously.
Saw a old police bike and side car sitting in a yard in Harbin a couple of years ago it looked complete but was not allowed to investigate further by the wife , I don't think she liked the idea.
