Q: Since moving to China do you get up latter?

At home I am up at 5:30am and on my way to work by 6:15am

since coming here I find 8am is the norm .

I think the sun rises about 330am up here in the North and sets about 19:00

Have your sleeping  habits changed

Not really...

My sleeping habits haven't really changed... I get up at 7 here (and back home) and start working at 9:00... It gives me enough time to wake up, shower and take the bus to work...

Earlier if anything. It is not uncommon for me to wake up between 04:30 and 05:00 here. Probably 06:00 to 07:00 was common back home.

Not really, no. In fact my commute to work at my old job took over an hour so I had to be up much earlier than I would have been at home. Thank god I moved schools!

Definitely earlier.  I have a 90-minute commute to work so I'm up at about the same time you are.  Sometimes earlier so I beat the alarm clock!  Not happy about it.

Back in the West, I'm used to walking to work, riding my old Raleigh 3-speed, or taking the subway.  But I can't do any of the three here in QD.

Tired of commuting...

I'm so really not a morning person. I go to bed really late but I'm up between 9 and 10.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
