the railroad can supply some plastic storage boxes with locks, you load the boxes , they pick up with a truck and deliver to the train station closest to your new place, then have truck deliver to your home and give them the containers back, for large items and furniture more trouble, i usually sell the big items and buy again when i arrive at the  new place.

I used a moving company once here although the distance was not as far as where you are going. However, I did get some things stolen. Maybe I left something in the guy's car can't remember, but if you can do it yourself I would go that route instead!
