I was just told that I have to hand in my original reference letters and I'm not going to get them back? When applying for my Work Permit?
Beijing, btw.
Is this accurate? Can I give a copy instead??

Okay I'll give you a proper answer. It's bullshit! Yes you need to hand the originals over for the application. Under the new system the employer applied online first using scanned documents. Once online approval is given the originals have to be sent in. Once the work permit is approved the original documents are given back.
Do you really believe they'd keep the originals? You'd never be able to apply for mother job after that if you had no originals.
I've always given my CV with files attached to School and that was it.
Just tell them files are all you have ... and see their next demand. Then, dial SAFEA about that 'requirement' to hear from the horse's ....
