Q: Is my employer required to withhold taxes and social insurance premiums from my salary every month?

I got my first paycheck from my employer last month and I simply received a small thin paper with my pay and the 100 that was deducted for the subway card refill i had asked them about. I had the idea that they are legally supposed to withhold taxes from my salary every month as well as my social insurance premiums or I am legally able to resign and demand them pay me severance. I understand Chinese labor law chapter 3, article 38, subsection 3 stipulates this.

I also get the thin strip of paper from the excel sheet where my employer records our pay and deductions.
This paper typically does not show taxes witheld.  At the end of the year, you'll get a tax paid document.

or you can use alipay to login and get a look at your taxes paid.

You can resign... but do not expect severance.  that will never happen.
The contract you sign probably stipulates you will need to repay them if you resign.

How about making  certain that when my chinese girlfriend wakes up in the morning that I am making fireworks in the bedroom. She will really have something to tell her friends that day. My boyfriend is so good at making fireworks in the bedroom. I really get a bang for my buck having him in my life. He always seems to be exploding with energy.

I always have my contract specif my pay as "net after taxes" and I assume the schools I've worked for have paid my income taxes (I assume that, never having recieved a tax statement, because I now have a resident card, not a past-due tax bill). You are supposed to pay social-benefit taxes (and receive social benefits) But in Guizhou, I have never paid the first, nor received the second.

Quit.  Demand severance. Take them to court.

Good luck.
