Hulk:

180 degree turn, how?

I'm very openly critical of the U.S. government. This is one of those times.

'Up-yours' is a traitor! He should be executed'.

Despite, you knew the fact, Gov. was acting against Constitution!

If you'll say, ''Up-yours' didn't need to take/release everything....', I consider that only as an excuse!

Gov. acted against the Law (hijacked USA), and 'Up-yours' is 'saviour'!

I'm sorry, icnif77, but I'm having a really hard time understanding your posts.

Snowden is not a traitor for letting us know about the NSA spying on the USA.

Snowden IS a traitor for giving away information on the NSA spying on other countries, including our enemies.

You conveniently ignore the latter. You focus only on the former.

I don't think, he was able to choose, what he'll take! Once, he found out about spying on Americans, he took everything!

I see his action similar as 'once you would revenge to a thief, you wouldn't pick, what you'll take as revenge'! You (I) would take everything!

'Empty the thief's house, because he stole an old bicycle!' 'Up-yours' also likes himself, a bit! Similar to T. LOL

If I expand that, US Gov. was acting like a 'dick head', once he landed in HK. They could get him back voluntarily! US Gov. stopped the whole World last year! If US wanted to get Up-yours' and files back, they should admit (a bit of) mistakes, offer clemency, and so on! But, NO! 'bullets and things for Up-yours'….. US 'enemies' were competing, who'll take 'Up-yours'. China diplomatically let him go to Russia, and Putin was having an orgasm every half an hour after that! LOL In fight, once you are stronger than your opponent, you don't scream: 'I'm the strongest!', because you're provoking your opponent! Wise person (US should....) retreat a bit, clemency and small talk, and get him back. US should get him back, not only because of the stolen files. 'How to copy it undetected' takes a cake, IMO!

You contradict yourself a bit with this statement! How can you prove World Internet/Broadband is own by US, if you don't tell Merkel's phone talk?

I'll admit this seems hypocritical, but it's also very important to the future of the internet worldwide. A lot of us use VPNs based in America... if America's internet starts shitting the bed, so do a lot of VPNs we use. There are other reasons, too.

I don't disagree with your sentiment. Privacy is a real concern nowadays. I just couldn't resist the opportunity you presented. It's like a free kick in football: Will you take the kick, or stand off out of politeness? I took the kick.

It happens!

Besides, a few things here and there aren't really annoying. What gets annoying is when the same anti-American poster (icniff77) continually posts one bad thing about America after another. Like he doesn't even stop, he just keeps posting over and over about things that don't pertain to China. Who does that? Wumaos do that.

This, however, pertains to China. We don't want our country ending up like China, and if it does, then it may be difficult for us to secure access to a VPN. Most large VPNs have headquarters in the United States, or a similar country.

Wrong Channel?

I mean I am with you but I don't think the American government would listen to a Canadian. I bet as soon as they read I am a Canadian they mentally picture an image similar to Terence and Phillip from South Park talking with a violently shaking head while speaking, then laugh themselves in to a hysterical fit which brings upon a seizure and they die painfully (but with a smile)... Wait... maybe I can help you out after all...

People must organize band together and create our own net company. Hollywood elites have the resources but they actually support this.

I agree Hulk, but I think the first thing we need to focus on is stopping ALL censorship - not just in China.  Right now the U.S. Senate is about to vote on the CISPA law which will give the American government (actually only 5 people appointed by Obama) the right to choose what Americans and the world can see or not see on the internet.  If there is something embarrassing about government waste or crimes, or embarrassing like a war crime or some senator banging a 17 year old intern, they won't block, - they will delete it and we will never know what is really going on in the world.  They will be authorized to delete websites, blogs, and posts or other countries and their citizens as well.  It will eliminate the meaning of the words "Sovereignty" and "Freedom Of Speech".  See this link for details - http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9226248/Privacy_groups_launch_protest_against_CISPA_bill

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
