3. Drug testing will reduce "scum" in China - there are lots of back home loser types who teach in China and don't use drugs and will still come to China whether or not there is widespread drug testing of foreign teachers

4. Drug testing foreign teachers will somehow weed out the bad apples - As if foreign teachers who don't have drugs in their system at any given moment are more like "normal expats" (whater that means) while those with drugs in their system must be scum....

I get that foreigners who act like assholes can make everybody look bad but not really seeing how drug testing would change that. I'm pretty sure most foreigners who I've seen behaving badly were drunk and not on drugs, and not all of them are teachers.

You seem to misunderstand my point. I certainly would not advocate breaking the laws of China by using drugs, in fact I think it's incredibly stupid to put everything at risk by doing so. As you can see in my response below, I clearly identify the risks of having drugs in one's system in Chiina. Furthermore, I have actually never heard of the stereotypical esl teacher being a druggie (there are plenty of other negative stereotypes but that one doesn't usually come up.) What makes you seem like an ass is are the assumptions that you make and your ad hominem attacks on me when I was trying to engage the ridiculous assumptions you made. Rather than respond to any of my points, you try to attack me personally, which is not really the most effective way to prove your point, especially on an anonymous online forum. There's nothing wrong with obeying the laws of China - but your blanket judgements of large groups of people come across as ignorant, bitter and hateful.
