Q: my little towns exercise places .. just here???

the hot springs are fine.....  a special thing for this town...

spa tub -- hot tub

the swimming pool is fine ...

the gym is pretty good too

the legit massage places are fine too.

now why, in the hell, doesn't somebody put them in 1 place???    go for a swim.... walk a block or 2, hop in the  hot tub ... another couple blocks and you will find a treadmill and some weights...........  a foot or back/shoulder massage can be found on the other side of town.........I want a YMCA ....  gym and pool together.

They are having no problem charging "western" rates for these" luxuries", but they are  having a hard time making them "convenient " or reasonably accessible.

you get to pay for the pool .... the hot tub...  the gym... the massage ....  4 different bills ... (I accept the massage is special and different) so 3 ...  but they all charge as if they were fully equipped places...........  nuts ..  I'm gonna stay home and rebel against this lunacy and just frequent my known one stop guy..... the beer store..... when the exercise guys get it right, I will, for sure, contribute to them.... I did notice, today, hot springs is "no smoking", but they sell smokes.

guess I just did....  what a dreamer I am huh?    what an ass... hole.. ...  but I do stick with, if they are going to try to do it.....  do it right....  5000rmb for the pool and 5000 for the gym down the block is ludicrous ..... I'll be meeting that Scot in the bar way before I pay that for hot water.

5000 RMB for a year or a month ? If it's for a month, then WTF, shiny tu hao trap.

5000 per year for sure. Nobody would pay 5000 per month unless there was a little bit something extra on the side...

Anyway... I know some places like that around here. They are health clubs at like 6-10k RMB. I was going to get a membership but it is too far away. Perhaps when I move... I just like that it keeps most Chinese out... not that the Chinese people that go are much better than the normal gyms... I just prefer less and they are decent places to build guanxi.

Ah, have you ever been to Korea? They have the JimJilBangs there, which are everything you describe and more. For 8-10000 Won (50-60 kuai) you get fantastic hot spas (that is if you don't mind elderly Korean men touching your chest hair in fascination), they even have different temperature ones, like the hottest is close to 40 C, and they go down to 26, plus simulated river to swim in, high-pressure massage sprayers to loosen the muscles, and hot saunas, all in the big room, then downstairs there are hot stone rooms, exercise machines, a drinks bar (awesome herbal shakes), massage chairs, and a sleeping area. All that and you can even spend the night at the end.

Go to the hotels, usually you will find the pool, gym and spa in the same facility. A bit pricey but you can find some deals in group buy websites such as 55tuan.

Why not go granny-dancing ? It's cheap and presumably everywhere.

That would be cool to have all those places in one but it aint gonna happen at least around here where I live. There is a YMCA type place in Hong Kong that I've seen and some of the hotels will have what you're describing. Don't see the point of just sitting around the house rebelling get out there and make the best of it like anything else here in China.
