Q: My restaurant is hiring illegal workers and violate safety regulations

Hello, my employer's restaurant in china is hiring illegal workers and breaking a handful of safety regulations in the workplace, some of which can lead to a disaster.
Do I need to report this to the authorities? I don't want to be responsible for any accident happening.
Do I have the right to resign from the work for this reason?

you have the right to resign if you are not happy with your employer.
you are not under any obligation to say why.
Unless they are coercing (blackmailing) you to stay in any way.

If they are breaking safety regulations, which may lead to injury or death, why are you staying?
Do you have any actual evidence that your employers are doing anything that you allege? If so, by staying you could be deemed complicit if the restaurant is caught for any failure of regulations.
If customers get ill through food poisining or worse, and you knew about  it and did nothing, as a foriegn worker your employer will proably dump the blame on you.

Why do you think they would treat you any better or consider your safety any more than that of illegal workers.

Why would you stay working in such a place?

bottom line - just leave.

Why would you be responsible  for the accidents at your work place, if you don't run the establishment?

How about the traffic accidents in your city?

Don't you feel any similar 'responsibilities' ...?

I think, you should report danger on the roads to the highest authorities immediately!

Blondie_:

the OP, if he/she intends to report the employer should gather solid evidence that can not be disputed.

Equally, the employer might have guanxi and reporting the employer could back-fire.

1. Illegal Workers Illegal workers are people who work without proper documentation. These individuals may not have a valid visa or passport, they may not have any identification at all, or they may even be working under false documents. In some cases, these individuals may be undocumented immigrants, meaning they do not legally reside in the United States. If they are hired by a business, they are breaking the law. 2. Safety Regulations Safety regulations are rules set forth by the government to ensure the protection of employees and customers. Many businesses fail to follow these rules, and if they do, they often do not enforce them properly. When a business does not comply with safety regulations, it puts its own employees and customers at risk. 3. Health Department The health department is responsible for ensuring that food establishments meet certain standards regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene. A business that fails to meet these standards could face fines or closure. 4. Food Handler's License A food handler's license is issued by the state to those who prepare food for consumption. This includes anyone who works in a kitchen, including cooks, dishwashers, waiters, bartenders, and servers. 5. Worker's Compensation Insurance Worker's compensation insurance covers employers for injuries sustained by their employees while on the job. Without this coverage, employers would be liable for any injury suffered by their employees. 6. OSHA Compliance OSHA stands for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It is a federal agency that ensures workplaces are safe and free of hazards. Any business that employs workers should make sure they are following OSHA guidelines. 7. Employee Training Employee training is necessary to ensure that employees know how to safely operate equipment and perform tasks. Employees should receive training before being allowed to use heavy machinery or work around dangerous chemicals.

A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
