You need to show the bank statement at the Psb.. You can obviously go to an agent.. or fly to Hong Kong to do it. In Hk it is cheaper then doing it with an agent here.

One of the requirements to extend your stay on an "L" visa is to show at PSB that you have enough money to live here for the extended period.  The going rate is almost 800 yuan per day, so for a 12 days extension, you will need from 9,600 to 12,000 yuan, depending on the mood of the official in front of you.  No funds, no extension, in Beijing or elsewhere.  Sorry !

me again,  just to report,   21,000 is needed for 30 day stay, and furthermore, the bank statement needs to be on the day or at minimum the day before,

but i got it no worries with the bank statement and cost 190 rmb i think (not over 200 anyway)

no need agents.............do it yourself.its too easy

my buddy came up trumps , stuck it in my bank then , got the bank slip,  but it needs to be done as close to the applying day as possible, i did it 4 days before, and she was hesitant to do it, said next time it has to be on the day or at minimum day before

Sorry dyanisis this how China gets you out of the country, your visa is over then its time for you to go. Does this mean you are working in China illegally?

a friend of mine just extended his L visa for 30 days without anything from the bank, so it does not seem to be required every time.

But yes, only one 30 day extension in Beijing unfortunately possible :(

Does anyone know if it is possible to extend more often in other cities?

Hi, you can get another L visa for 30 days. If you have another friend apply visa with you, you two can get 30 days group visa, it could be obtained in one day and the cost is around 850rmb, very convenient

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
