Q: Need to open U.S bank aboard, know a good bank?

I need to start paying some bills back open which requires me to open a U.S bank and I don't wanna travel to the U.S just to open an account.

So I found two options:

"Bank Of America", yes, can open it aboard while in China, just need my address in America and & SSN#

Next is "Charles SCHWAB" bank. (Never heard of them). Need address in the U.S and U.S drivers license.

So this is the route I know I can take, but if you guys have any better U.S banks that I can open while aboard, I'm listening. Thanks

Charles Schwab was a discount broker, the first on wall street before the internet and then became an investment bank. A good solid company, almost 2 trillion in assets, and 300 offices worldwide. The company caters to small customers instead of rich elite assholes.

You hit the nail on the head. So it looks like Charles Schwab will have to be my choice, unless something else pops up. My BANK of America online application was refused due to my IP address location, but I called Charles Schwab and they set me up with everything I need: Passport, Proof of billing in China (My Topway account) and a deposit of $25,000. No problem.. The only hassle is opening it, I have to mail everything first, than wait for the account to be opened, than transfer the $25,000 USD..

At least there is something out there that doesn't require me to go home.

If you are a member of USAA from military membership or family, you can get an account in S. Korea, also American banks have offices around the miltary base in S. korea to open an account.

Flying there could cost a good bit, but oil prices are lower, also a ferry over from Qingdao, Weihai, and Dalian are all options. Ferries are listed on website searches. If you have a relative you trust, open a credit union checking account joint and have them mail you the checks and online payment information. I hate using banks of any kind and would much rather help a credit union were the members get the profits instead of rich shareholders.

Haha funny story, I was interviewed and offered a position in the military back during my last year of High School in Lakewood, Colorado of year 1996. And after the body check, I failed due to having flat fleet, my mom was happy but I lost some confidence as a young lad back than: "What I can't join the military due to having flat feet?" lol, to be honest, IF I was in the Military I might have been sent to Iraq, some of my classmates were sent there.

Which vessel will you primarily be aboard? If ship, then Bank of Bravos has a ship on which theyvopened up a bank on, doing a few cross continental runs, docking for a few days to allow customers to make mobile transactions.  But if youre hailing from WESTeros then your interest rates may be higher.
