Not read anything about a blue 100 note. They recently issued a new red 100 note that had fools lettering for "100" and added security features. This one was highlighted in a China Daily article.

No news on a blue one. Sounds like a scam.

There's nothing on Yahoo on 'new 100 Rmb note'. Blue one might be scam.

I'd never heard of these either, but they look pretty cool. Technically I suppose it's legal tender, but I wonder what would happen if you tried to spend one.  Can't imagine many places would accept it.

Not yet. Mine are all red ....and School owes me 200 of them, and at Gov.'s in Zhengzhou nobody speaks English.

Gov ignored promise of return call with solution by yesterday, mastards.

My Chinese friend is out of town, so I must wait till tomorrow for call to Gov.

I like the new look inspite of there being no Mr Mao. I think it might take a while before they'll be accepted at the wet market or black taxis.

icnif77:

Accepted? See how Europe deals with 500 EUR notes. Small retailers won't accept them 'cause not enough change in the register, and then you must pay fee at currency exchanges to get them exchanged to 100 notes. PIA.

CMB carries only 500 Eur notes.

Best I can figure they are just commemorative special-edition notes, not exactly meant for circulation.  Maybe there is some other blue note?

Nothing new on Yahoo, yet. Latest link on new 100 Rmb note is from Nov 12th, 2015.

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/business/china-launches-new-harder/2...

China launches new 'harder to fake' 100-yuan noteThe note retains its overall red colour, with Communist founder Mao Zedong on one side and Beijing's Great Hall of the People on the other.

Not red, no Mao....not real.  And won't ever be until the lights goes on.  Or out.  Hahahhah

I think one of these eventualities is not too far away.

The blue notes are real. Our Chinese friend, who works at a local bank, gave our son a blue 100-yuan bill for Christmas. I think it's a commemorative note for their space program. You can get it from the bank if you really fancy one.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
