Q: With the new free highway "promotion" this National Holiday... Is it gonna be too crazy to drive?
If ya didnt know... All highways will be free to use for all National Holidays this year.... I was planning a small road trip this National week from Guangzhou to Nanning. Is the chaos I am imagining is overblown? Considering how expensive airfares are during the holidays...Im not sure what is more practical...
During national holidays, I normally shut my door and refuse to go outside for the entire week. Just going to the local market is scary enough, but driving cross country when 100 million people are trying to rush home after doing baiju bye bye's with their friends and company? Not a chance.

Haha I normally do as well. But then When i go back to work I always regret the fact I did nothing... So Im going!!!! Just trying to figure out a way that makes the most sense..... Roads are free but busy as hell..... Flying is hella expensive and crowded airports... No clue

Fly. Hands down. The airport may be crowded but at least the planes (mostly) will get where they are going in one piece.
I dunno. I pucker up (not my lips...) every time I get on the expressway, even for just a quick 20 km jaunt (only go by a couple exits). The combination of really slow moving trucks, speeding weaving maniacs, deranged bus drivers, and sudden lane closures due to construction with no prior notice.....well, you get the picture. I'm not sure I could imagine driving a car that far, and with that many more people on the road. Besides, my little pos tops out at about 100 km/h....I feel kinda bad making it work so hard.
