Q: New Visa policy Changes
I am currently a holder of a Z visa and simply plan to renew my visa in July. Will I need to have my B.A. authenticated by the embassy back home, or is this simply if I am starting a new application?

Truth is, it depends on your city/ province. My asdvice is simple. For everyone looking to work legally, expect to need your authenticated degree and authenticated criminal history report.
You'll be renewing your work permit/resident permit, not your one-time use Z-visa. For renewals they should follow the current system.
It's worth authenticating your BA anyway for if you change jobs in future.
Hotwater is right, we can stay on our current FEC booklets until they run out of pages to stamp IF IF IF we stay with the same company. So better prepare for the future.

Yes, it all depends on your provincial authorities. I heard that in some northern provinces (Liaoning, Jilin) you do not have to authorize your degree, if your work permit was issued anywhere in China before September 2015. But again, this is only a rule valid for these two provinces. Elsewhere they might have very different rules and all these policies are changing almost every month in China, so we'll never know for sure until we face that.
I thought you needed your degree to be authenticated to get the Z visa for a single entry into China, under new regulations. Then you will convert the Z visa to an RP for the purpose of work. I am reading that you already have an RP. Hence the employer will be able to renew it for you. In that case the employer will tell you. If you are planning to work for someone else, they can transfer the visa for you. However, according to new regulations the new FEC will be in your passport. So at this time, I don't think anyone really knows the answer to your query.

The new work permit/FEC won't be in your passport. It's a pathetic card that gets badly laminated from the photos I've seen.
AFAIK if you have a current WP/FEC booklet and stay in the same job then nothing changes. You just renew it. It's when you change jobs you'll be dealt with under the new system.
Though knowing China this will depend how local officials interpret the new rules.

At least in Shenzhen I can tell you 100% that if you change jobs you need everything authenticated, 1. Degree, 2. Reference letters, 3. Certs or TEFLs. 4. Criminal record. But some cities might not be the same, but hey April 1st will be here soon.

Hotwater is hot right, there will be NO FEC stamp in our passport, just a working permit and in our pocket the new ID card with a capital B on it.
