Q: no one calls rank here
When I first started I thought people would constantly go shut up peasant, But no one cares about rank just thought that was cool.

Trying to make a big deal about rank (looking down on lower ranks) would do nothing but drive away new people to the site. And we want to encourage new people to join our family. Plus if titles mattered, then that would just encourage certain people to spam us more than they already do.

So it's debatable whether a high rank is a good thing or not.
while rank as such, is in reality a measure of your service to others, since it is measured and awarded by the number of points you accumulate thru your postings (bears no relationship at all with time on the site), many here pay no attention to it ( as we do with points awarded) and thus meaninless.
And I often wonder if those who trade points for rewards, and thus loosing points, will also loose ranking too ?.
There are too many other important things in life rather than posting 3 to 5 questions per day, answer every question posted even if not saying a thing of value, just to accumulate points and now rank . What a waste !. And who cares ?.
To me, points, rank, wahtever, is just VANITY, very common here.

1t doesn't drop your rank or even the points shown on your profile. The only change is what is open for you to be able to redeem the next time.
I like the rank system and feel far above those of lower rank. I suggest an overhaul of the system to more fit the local culture. We could start off as Nike socks, move up to CK underpants, then to Burberry polo shirt and eventually after much effort be able to obtain the rank of LV (genuine not fake) handbag. Now that would make me feel extra special.
I like the ranking system. It makes me feel like I accomplished something, and didn't just waste all my time here.

When I was a general, I thought I was a pretty hot deal. But now that I'm a governor, I dunno man... nothing seems to make sense anymore. Who am I? Why are we here?
Since the next logical progression is apparently "taxi driver" I'll see how well I wear that.

Since the board is so young, calling rank on it would just seem like a pissing contest.
Rank is issued by number of posts, not by points from what I can tell.

1t's by points, but for most people, you can double their post count for an approximation of total points.
I am a mere General for another 50 points, then I will become Governor. I expect to be adorned with orchids and a tiara, seated on a throne and lifted by 12 Soldiers wearing loin cloths and flip flops, paraded around the 1st ring road in Beijing, and hand fed the most exquisit of chocolates while the commoners throw silk paper confetti and shoot off the most colorful of fireworks ever displayed.
The most important reason for earning title of Gov, however, is the color of my new ribbon will be a pinkish purple color. That, my friends, is my life's goal. That and giving Yaya a thumbs up. And I did that the other day. My bucket list is complete and I can die happy
