I grill alot. And try to keep a stock of Kraft mac & cheese.
I bought an oven last week
Before that, I used to fry and steam (in the rice-cooker) - pretty much the same sort of meals as back home. With the occasional use of the wok or saucepan for something more exotic.
The problem was less cooking utensils as ingredients... took me months to get basil and sage! Or butter!! (I was in a T2 city with only 1 Walmart.. which wasn't that close).
No ovens!? Well...guess I'll be slimming down if I can't bake my cookies.
You can buy little ovens over here at any decent electrical retail place. My best buy was however my little toaster machine. Ive been here 2 years and not really missed an oven as I cant find any decent food to cook in it haha........Get yourself a selection of good takeaway menus especially if from a local western restr' if you have on enearby.......
pasta is easy without an oven,
but i mainly make stir fry...
my wife bought an oven but we only use it once or twice a month
Pasta , stews , sauteed vegetables , pan-fried/deep-fried things , all the good breakfast foods of course .... and on my lazy days I boil ramen =)
We have a dung oven. It's made out of poo.
But before we got that we ate a lot of noodles. But some of that spicy pepper sauce in it and you'll be in business.
You can get a decent oven for 500 kuai on tao bao, noob.

Fried potato and chicken wings done in the MW.
Stir fry in the Wok.
Steamed rice.
Fried rice mixed with pork and lots of fresh vegetables.
French toast.
Hot dogs.
Spaghetti Bolognese.
Instant noodles with buttered, dry, salted crackers
Toasted sandwiches.
BBQ Chicken breast marinated with chips and salad.
Restaurants for Korean BBQ and assorted Chinese dishes.
But I am still buying an oven so I can have a roast meal - lamb, pork and chicken.
Rock on!!
I have figured out a way to make my wok into an oven so that I can make roast beef dinner. I have boughten a BBQ which is nice for a change... But, who says that people don't have an over? I have friends that have ovens, they just bought them so that they can bake bread, cookies, cakes, etc.
