Q: No qq,msn,skype in the office?
My ofice is not allowed to login on QQ,MSN,skype.How is yours?Will it bore you?
There are many work-arounds for this.
1. For QQ, use webqq. Since you access it directly through the browser, it is rarely blocked and then not successfully.
2. For MSN, the same thing. You can access Windows Live Messenger through the Homail log-in.
3. For Skype, now that it has been comingled with Windows Live Messenger, the same as above.

I would think most companies are like this, to encourage their employees to get their work done. If you want to work for a foreign company, expect it.
i noticed the best companies that i've dealt with have these rules. that you are working for a company that is stable and trustworthy (maybe( if you want to work for an A class company then you should understand that they expect you to be productive during your working hours. it's not about trying to find end arounds to their rules (follow numbers advice and you'll be fired) . instead focus on using your work time to be a productive and valued member of the company.
Luckily I am in marketing dept, we can use and open all the sofeware....
same rules here, no QQ during work time. but later, they have allowed have 1 QQ nuber per worker, which is registered in the system, and probably monitored. Skype is allowed for us, foreigners, as is very usefull tool for contacting our suppliers in rest of the world. Time ago, we have a phone for international calls, than they find out, it is very costly to make 10 calls daily and get 2-3 deals in a month 
Sadly the lack of work ethics in China means that all (most) companies have restrictions on distractions.
Back home, the office environments I have worked in had all sorts of distractions, it was encouraged to use them to socialize with co-workers and was generally seen as a productivity tool.
The Chinese worker is only focused on getting through the day with as little effort as possible. This is the true beauty of SOEs
In my job i do use the qq sometimes so logging on qq is totally allowed.......i don't need to use msn at daytime and i don't use skype
It depends what kind of job you do , in my job i have use QQ, skype all the time, so it's not a problem
No one really works in China. It take 9 people a week to do what I could do in an hour,,because they would rather use QQ etc. I talked to someone on QQ yesterday that was at work. I talked to one of my girl friends that was playing mahjong and QQ while working, but I think she works in a beauty shop.
