Q: No such thing as a "legitimate" headhunter company in China?

I still have a number of months left on my current contract in Beijing, but I'm already starting to think ahead about finding a new job somewhere here in China, preferably in PR or something business related. I've been looking around this website and others and it seems like there's not a lot of nice things to be said about headhunters here, or anywhere, really. I saw a question from a year ago asking the samething, but it wasn't really answered, so I thought I might try again to see if anyone has any new tips.

Are there any semi-decent headhunter companies in China that aren't 100% out to screw me and ship me off to some 4th tier city? I occasionally get messages from Chinese HHers on linkedin, but haven't responded yet, out of concern about scams. Is there anything specific I should know about the process to avoid getting scammed? Or paying unnecessary fees?

Thanks everyone!

I used to think Michael Page was legit but they got busted for advertising fake jobs not too long ago just to get a database of foreigner applicants.  If you find a real one that is licensed with a verifiable track record let us all know!
