Q: Now that English learning is de-emphasized in China, do you think it will improve？
Everyone only ever studied it because it was mandatory or that they wanted to improve their careers; now that these two restrictions will be relaxed, it may appear that the only people left to study English will be those that actually want to learn it.
Or will Starbucks remain English Corner Central?

Fair question mate. It certainly won't get any worse. I mean, after 30 odd years of compulsory English learning how many ppl can actually speak it??

Had a Starbucks coffee in my former hometown of Qingdao a cpl of years ago and was surprised at the quality of it. I'd read over the years that Starbucks had won the 'Worst Coffee in the World Award' 4 years in a row.
What they served me was far from being the worst I'd ever had. Probably only 8th worst.
