I'm studying here as well as completing my degree from my home country. I am here hoping to move on to Japan in the near future once I have completed my education. It's a waiting game for me.

I am watching "The Great Escape" on repeat (with the occasional screening of "Chicken Run"). I am not sure tunneling out will work or if I need some kind of catapult to shoot me over the border. 

Going to stick out the year and save as much money as I can to backpack around South East Asia when I'm finished. We can all agree China isn't the easiest place to live but it sure as hell is teaching me a lot, even menial things like, when you hear someone heck up some spit double walking speed immediately etc..

@Philbravery, to be honest man, I didn't really have any kind of shock. I guess China's not the right place for you. In fact China has been one of the coolest countries I've ever worked in. The only escape I need to make is the fun one, which cool province should I visit next in this huge country.

Mature people can look past almost anything and walk forward with open and understanding eyes.

I guess if you came from Afghanistan or somewhere that they shoot at you on a daily basis China would be a step up
Just stick to the tourist tour groups and things look great as with most countries I have been too. Even my own country only shows the world what they want you to see.

I miss China every day. Wish it wasn't so polluted, etc. I loved the adventure I had there.

I don't really know why, but I always feel really happy in China. I don't want to live in China. I'm still looking for a place that I can have a grass hut on the beach and go to a local bar, women that wear grass skirts and have an endless supply of matches.
