Q: Online tickets for the Beijing-Shanghai Highspeed train

I've heard that it is now possible to buy tickets online for the new high speed train between beijing and shanghai, and that you need to use a passport or chinese id card for identification. Now as a foreigner here i wonder if you can use a non chinese passport for identification on the tickets you buy online?

anyone knows anything about this?

and can use your passport.
