Q: Options for winter and summer vacation at kindergarten jobs?

Working for a kindergarten is pretty nice. Light workload, kids are enthusiastic (for the most part) about learning English and of course you don't have to work on weekends, so overall it's a good entry job for foreign English teachers. The only problem we may have is around winter and summer vacation time when we get around 1 month unpaid 'holiday' in winter and 2 months in summer.

I thought about trying to find work at winter or summer camps at other schools but as far as I know that would be illegal and I may get deported if I get caught teaching there. How do you support yourself during winter and summer vacations in China?

Find a job that pays full salary for the Winter and Summer Holidays.

Chhris:

There are kindergartens that do that? The best I have seen was fully paid winter vacation but nothing for summer.

You could lock yourself in a closet for a few days with water, peanuts, and a video of "Barney and Friends" on a perpetual loop and see how long it takes for you to go crazy.   That's always fun.
