Q: Over the past 2 years, by how much have teacher's wages gone up, on average?
I live in Shenzhen and two years ago I would make 5,000 RMB a month, with accomodation, airfare and lunches/dinners provided. Now that's gone up to 7,500 RMB.
I was wondering if that's representative of the norm or if I should be asking for more.

I would say that the wages themselves have not gone up, but your experience has increased, allowing you to get better paid jobs.
depends on the city i would say 1000rmb a month. (for the new year sept 2012)
Shit, really!?! I make 33%+ more than 7,500rmb pm and this is my first (and definitely last) teaching job in China. The company I work for didn't even check my credentials (which are legitimate). This market is a disgrace, no wonder 'real' teachers don't respect 'China' on a resume.
Wages are negotiable. They rise if you are able to show an effective combination of skills, experience, qualifications and attitude. Imo you get what you settle for.
