Q: Part-time Chinese study at a Beijing university?

I'm looking to join a part-time Chinese course of some sort and I've heard that university is a good choice for serious study. I'm currently at pre-intermediate level.

Is it possible to do some kind of part-time evening study a few days a week at some of the universities in Beijing? Any experiences? Thanks!

Most Universities will offer chinese course, so just go check out some that are near to you. Unfortunately MOST dont offer evening, Strictly day, although some might, some offer weekends as well.  As for strictly part time, Most that I have seen dont have part time. But most people that are here working in China treat it like part time anyways. You treat it seriously for a month or so, then start going less and less. They already got your money, they dont seem to care that much.  Also, just google the universities. They will usually have an english page specifically for this, so you can get alot of your information without leaving the house.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
