Q: Petition to Reinstate Vicky
I just discovered, after trying to research the topic "Best relationship question of 2013", that our Vicky is banned.
eChinaCities Staff: Vicky is not a detestable and worthless pain in the ass like Silva. She doesn't spam, and she doesn't ask deliberately inane questions. And from a purely practical standpoint, she doesn't drive people away from eChinaCities. Her questions are, in my opinion, one of the major attractions of this website. The huge number of responses to any given Victoria post vindicates what I am saying.
Am I alone in thinking Victoria is a valuable member of our community? I would like her reinstated.
As Evelyn Beatrice Hall (biographer of Voltaire) famously wrote:

Sorrel's right - and was one of the ones referred to as such (I think). Vicky's recent comments towards Hulk's wife also did not reflect well on her. Nor did her comments about her female colleagues. .

I totally agree with you. Although, being a male, I find it also degrading to women to often read questions and answers/comments about women's breasts, or men's sexual organs. It seems rather juvenile, perhaps perverse.
Although Vickie does have some rather odd and frequent questions, she is okay and should not be banned. However, there are plenty of other people with their questionable comments who should IMHO.

I, for one, don't mind having "Victoria" around. I find her questions and comments annoyingly entertaining. She's like a sticky bugger that just won't flick off from your fingers.
She may be a troll or perhaps even has a "handler" to write her postings, but I personally don't care. The comments from her questions and her responses to them make for a fun read.
However, I suspect that some (or many) of the comments of her postings may have been considered "not acceptable" by "watchful eyes." She has therefore been branded as "someone" not being a "good representative" of what is China or Chinese.
Perhaps she will be "resurrected" in the near future...hail Cleopatra!

Yes, you can say she is silly, self centered, drama queen but she was funny and as you've already said, just look at the answers! Come on! You got many insane articles, lame, almost at the same level of Yahoo news and you ban our lil Vicky!??!

Every cat needs a scratching post and without all that dribble Saliva used to leave on the board, Vicky's been performing a valuable service I guess. Personally I never answer her posts, she pretty much epitomizes every downhill trait of this country and from the moment she told Canadian Derek that she hoped his unborn child would die, it was quite clear to me that she was not a person I had the least interest in whatsoever. But should she be given a second chance here? (Jesus, why did I even post a response to this?) I would be extremely hard pushed to care less.

Punching bag is another fair description of the way she was treated. In fact this entire plea on her behalf smacks of a rather dubious and questionable virtue. It's like the school bully trying to get his favourite victim out of being expelled.
vicky may have flamed a few people with some derogatory comments, but usually someone provoked her first with their comments, in fact sometimes because of culture differences, she did not know she was insulted, i think perhaps someone used some nebulous standard for the ban and not a fair evaluation of the dialogue, if chinese moderators make the decision, i can understand the ban to keep ladies of ill repute off the site, but hey ladies that are angels are pretty damn boring.

Guys, bear in mind you don't actually know what comment she made that got her banned.
I've had physical assault/sexual assault 'jokes' using the most vile, sexually offensive and insulting language made against me and that didn't get the poster so much as a second's ban. In fact, admin got pissed at ME for asking the board if it was appropriate.
So whatever vicky said - it must have been pretty bad.

As a newer member of this board coming in with a different perspective, I found Vicky to also be annoying entertaining and don't see any justification for her being banned. I actually looked forward to her posts and was wondering where she had been. She lightens up the board with her off center posts and provides opportunity for camaraderie amongst the other members as we all gather and say "Oh Vicky, here she goes again" and all share in a chuckle/laugh. #FreeVicky #BringVickyBack
jesus if she got banned we better watch what we say. Someone here has to know what happened. Maybe all of her past foreign flames who " couldnt get a job here" and fleed the country have banded together to get her off so their names will be sullied no longer?

To answer the question of who was rude and made offensive remarks to missa. Martian called her a 'cunt' when she rightfully pointed out that he changed his post.
I apologize to missa for bringing this up. But that really passed me off. Phucking auto correct . Pucking auto correct, I meant puck.
Back to my point. If he is still here, then so should Vicky unless she did sth worse . Please tell us what our Vicky did, or reinstate her so she could confess herself.

The "shoot you" comment with the red devil "smiley" was, I believe, a noninjurious remark meant to scold with a hint of mischief (Vicky WAS quite mischievous), not to threaten. My opinion.

I wouldnt know. Im not from the UK. But i do have some older aquaintences from the UK and they toss the word around like its nothing. Perhaps you should read again. I'm down with Samsara. Bring the girl back. She asked some unusual yet original questions: her spelling, at times, was amusing; she traded barbs with the best of her critics and naysayers on the board; and she was funny in a perverse sort of way. Frequently innocently funny.
I got a kick out of her "ooo-la-las" and her "woohoos". Sure, she often retorted in such a manner that would inflame or insult a board member or two, but she certainly didn't have a monopoly on inflammatory language around here, now, did she?
By the way, how do you know she has been banned? Her posts are still up... So, I don't get it. Is there like a "banned section" or something somewhere on this site?

It strongly gets on my nerves when website admins put up a forum, a place for people to talk and express their opinions and then ban them. She wasn't so bad. Would have been better to get her a little warning.
