Is it possible to find a University teaching opportunity in Shanghai by an Indian with a Ph.D. degree (Finance)?

I saw an advertisement for English teaching School that is meant for school Kids. The ad was boasting that "We can make your child speak like an American".
No mention about correct Grammar, writing skills ....
In this type scenario, what good is your PhD if your accent is Indian ??
If you really want to teach finance based on your PhD, China is not the place for you.
"by an Indian"? You mean as an Indian?
Most teachers on this website are EFL teachers. You'd be better contacting the universities directly. The problem is that most courses are taught in Chinese so immediately you are at a disadvantage. With a PHD you should be able to get a work permit iuf you've also got some prior teaching experience.

I'd say 'no', by my experience from looking for the new English teaching position. I don't fancy big cities in China, and I usually skip job vacancies in Shanghai, but most or all T-1 cities in China require 'Native English teacher' for English teaching position.
Overall in whole China, English teaching vacancies can be fulfilled by Non-native English teacher, if she/he holds degree completed in Native English country ( UK, Ozz, New Zealand, USA, Canada, S. Africa, too).
I'd say, Government won't issue Working permit for Non-Native English teacher in all T-1 cities doesn't matter of 'degree' (completed in Non-native English country - India).
I usually get/got WP in smaller cities.

Specificity is in order for a more accurate response. What job are you looking for? Languages spoken? Previous job experience, etc.
Depends on your passport and the officer infront of you, they make the last call, you have a 50%/50% chance.
I would venture to guess that you could find a teaching position. You didn't say anything about a subject. But with a PhD in Finance, it should be easy to teach business or economics. I would think you might run into some obstacles, unless you are a North American Indian.
why the heck would you look for a teaching position with a phd in finance?
teaching is paid crappy while the finance sector pays shit loads of money in the right position.
Unless you are really interested in teaching; but then again I would avoid china, because most students dont give a crap either
