Other than the Harbin Snow Festival and related events, are there any other places in (North) China worth visiting in the winter?

If you like days at - 25 C. and lots of wind, then he Dong Bei is just perfect in the winter for a visit. For a taste of Russia-in-China, you might try Manzhouli in far northern Inner Mongolia. Otherwise, honestly speaking, as someone who lives in the Dong Bei, winter is not the season for tourism around here -- many of us head south, and that includes a good number of the locals, too.
The great wall looks better in the winter. I've been there once in winter and once in summer. Snow covered walls and mountains.
China is too cold in the winter and I'm Canadian. I don't want to travel and be cold. Everything covered in snow - yuck. I'm thinking Thailand, hot and everything uncovered. Snow on Great Wall or Go Go Girls?
