Not a teacher BHGAL, but word of mouth is the key. I browse most of the Chinese sites, and while all claim to have good intentions, all seem to take money from the scammers to advertise.

All of these sites are businesses. They want to make a buck. Probably not much. But we live in an unregulated society where the scammers can thrive.

I briefly used Dave's ESL cafe about a year ago, and had my posted questions bombarded by trolls giving irrelevant answers, so stopped using it. I don't live or work in China, but have been told that if you want to find work, don't use an agent. On a positive note, Dave's was a very good site for general information, and there is also links to the Chinese Foreign Teachers Union, or something like that, which has some great information. Good luck.
