Q: Poor driving skills, a sign of leaders not caring about the people?

Problem of low driving skills includes, people dying, people being hospitalized, cars getting junked more often than they need to.

Advantages of low driving skills includes, customers at the hospitals, customers at the repair shops, customers at the insurance companies, and customers at the car dealers.

There is no need to educate people to use seatbelts when people are valued lower than the price of the seatbelt material.

I would guess that more than 50% of those with driver's licenses paid someone off at the driving school. A lot of people here don't know how to drive because they cheated to get the license. Paying people off is one side, buying fakes is even more rampant. I don't know why they can't be bothered to launch some road safety campaigns that include wearing seatbelts. Or why no bike here has any form of lighting. Thousands of lives could be saved if they could just be bothered.

my point is. the government is getting more growth from cars crashing than from people not crashing.

I see. I think I would have to consider more factors before agreeing/disagreeing. It's never that simple.

Scandinavian:

of course it is not that simple, there are many other benefits about keeping people in the dark-ages when you want to exploit a nation.

I wonder if Chinese listen to Chinese when they are told what or how to do something. When I tell or ask a Chinese I'd get a better reaction from my dog, at least she tilts her head and tries to figure out what I want. How can you teach them to drive when they  walk into you. can't look or notice?

I tried giving advice to my GF on driving a scooter, like don't turn left across a road without looking over your shoulder. She always said I don't know how to drive a scooter even though she knows I drive cars and motorcycles. She used to criticize me for always looking over my shoulder. Even so I almost got T-boned many times and once did while driving along a wall. Where the duck was he going?

Scandinavian:

Sometimes I think it doesn't matter who says anything to a Chinese person, if it is not one of their close relatives it doesn't matter. It's sad really because it makes it really difficult to build trust.

We can not single out china on this one
I am in this industry and I can tell you it is a world wide problem.
Until governments get serious and make it mandatory to retest drivers every 5 years for the class of licence people hold it will only get worst.
But they will not because everybody believes they are the best driver in the world and it would not be popular .and in non communist countries that means will not be voted in and for communists it means less bribes .
I have been in the industry for the best part of thirty years and it just gets worse every year because governments are to afraid of not being liked
Currently I train government drivers in defensive and advanced driving and they are evaluated regally as am I on my training delivery .
Unfortunately this does no translate to civilian drivers because they simply are not required to do it
I would like to add if the local cops in my city wanted to lean what I teach I would be more than happy to train them free of charge just because I can make that little bit of difference
